Message from the State Ministers

An effi­ci­ent rese­arch land­s­cape, inno­va­ti­ve com­pa­nies and inspi­red foun­ders form the basis of pro­spe­ri­ty and a secu­re job mar­ket in Bava­ria. The goal of Bavaria’s rese­arch, tech­no­lo­gy and inno­va­ti­on poli­cy is to main­tain and expand Bavaria’s posi­ti­on as a reco­gnis­ed sci­ence and busi­ness hub among inter­na­tio­nal competition.

Through a col­la­bo­ra­ti­on of five strong part­ners, the Bava­ri­an Rese­arch and Inno­va­ti­on Agen­cy (Bay­FIA) is Bavaria’s cen­tral point of con­tact for all mat­ters rela­ted to the pro­mo­ti­on of rese­arch, tech­no­lo­gy and transfer.

The five part­ner insti­tu­ti­ons of the Bava­ri­an Rese­arch and Inno­va­ti­on Agen­cy advi­se and sup­port small to medium-sized com­pa­nies and uni­ver­si­ties in their efforts to acqui­re fun­ding from the Sta­te of Bava­ria, the Ger­man federal government and the EU, while offe­ring help on issu­es rela­ted to the trans­fer of know­ledge and tech­no­lo­gy, and patent uti­li­sa­ti­on. They also pro­mo­te net­wor­king bet­ween sci­ence and indus­try sta­ke­hol­ders. The assi­s­tance offe­red inclu­des prac­ti­cal help to deve­lop forward-looking ide­as, from rese­arch and tes­ting to pre­pa­ra­ti­on for a mar­ket launch.

Employees are on hand to pro­vi­de sup­port at both loca­ti­ons in Munich and Nuremberg.

The Bava­ri­an Rese­arch and Inno­va­ti­on Agen­cy is a joint initia­ti­ve of the Bava­ri­an Minis­try of Sci­ence and the Bava­ri­an Minis­try of Eco­no­mic Affairs.
