Message from the State Ministers

“Innovative projects on the road to success” – this is the guiding principle of the Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency (BayFIA), a joint initiative of the Bavarian Ministry of Science and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. The Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency is the central point of contact in Bavaria for anyone looking for professional support in realizing their research and innovation project ideas. The four BayFIA partner institutions and their experts support small and medium-sized companies, universities and other research institutions with their know-how from the initial idea to industrial implementation. They guide you through the wide range of funding countries, help with the acquisition of funding from the Free State, the Federal Government and the EU for innovative projects and advise on all questions relating to inventions, patents and licenses. At the same time, BayFIA supports the organization of knowledge and technology transfer with events, networks and clusters. In addition, their partner institutions offer a number of their own funding programs for research projects and new technologies.

The partner institutions united under the umbrella of the Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency work in a specialized manner and at the same time hand in hand so that good ideas and projects find their way into funding and application as quickly, unbureaucratically and successfully as possible. The experts at BayFIA are available as central contacts for inquiries and initial consultations with their wide service portfolio, both on a free service telephone number and on site in Munich and Nuremberg.

For more than ten years, BayFIA has been a central component of Bavarian research, technology and innovation policy, which aims to maintain and further expand Bavaria’s leading position as a high-tech location in international competition. For this we need an efficient research landscape, innovative companies and imaginative start-ups, because Bavaria should remain a state of the future!
