Message from the Spokesperson

Martin Reichel

It has now been 10 years since the inauguration of the Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency on June 28, 2010 in Nuremberg and November 7, 2011 in Munich. What was launched in 2010 as a “House of Research” has developed into a cooperation model unique in Germany with an excellent track record! Through its valuable services, which are free of charge for Bavarian stakeholders from science and industry, the Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency significantly strengthens the pioneering position of the Free State of Bavaria in groundbreaking future technologies.

The current structure of the Research and Innovation Agency with its four partners offers a reliable point of contact for Bavarian players who want to successfully realize their innovative ideas. The services offered are tailored to support scientists and companies in their innovative projects – from the project idea to its implementation. The portfolio offered ranges from advice and support in obtaining funding from the Free State, the federal government and the EU, to the organization of knowledge and technology transfer through events, networks and clusters, to advice and support in all matters relating to inventions, patents and licenses.

In order to help innovative ideas succeed, each of the partners makes its own specific contribution, according to the motto: “specialized, but cooperative and coordinated”. This has only become possible through the close and trusting cooperation and coordination of the partners, which has grown steadily over the years and is practiced successfully. The success of the cooperation model is due in particular to the almost 180 dedicated employees at the two sites in Munich and Nuremberg, who contribute their expertise to the joint performance on a daily basis. That is why I would like to take this opportunity to express my special thanks to the employees at all partner institutions!

Furthermore, I would like to thank my two predecessors Dr. Christian Haslbeck (Bavarian Research Foundation) and Dr. Rainer Seßner (Bayern Innovativ) for their excellent work and look forward to my second term as spokesperson of the Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency.
